First LNG Powered Passenger Ship Sailing on Dongjiang Lake
On December 6, the world's first pure LNG fuel powered passenger ship and China's first LNG ship, Dongjiang Jinlongfang, officially set sail at the Dongjiang dam wharf in Zixing City. It has opened the prelude of the application of LNG clean energy in passenger ships in China. It is a major event for Chenzhou to build a national sustainable development agenda innovation demonstration area to protect water, is a new achievement of scientific and technological innovation, and also the first show for private enterprises to invest in environmental protection and shipping.
In order to protect the ecological environment of Dongjiang Lake, in recent years, on the basis of eliminating a large number of old ships in the lake area and all ship sewage ashore treatment, Zixing municipal Party committee and municipal government have actively strived for the pilot of clean energy ships to settle in Dongjiang Lake, focusing on promoting the project of "ship fuel power transformation and ship transformation and upgrading". "Hunan Dongjiang passenger ship application LNG project" was launched at the end of 2014. In 2016, it was approved and implemented by the Ministry of Communications on the "Release of the second batch of pilot demonstration projects for the application of liquefied natural gas in the water transport industry". Zixing City became the first county and city in China to promote the application of LNG clean energy by local governments.

Dongjiang Lake LNG power pilot demonstration project is composed of Dongjiang Jinlongfang passenger ship and Changyingtou LNG shore water filling based station of Bailang town. It is jointly implemented by private enterprises Hunan Xinneng Gas Co., Ltd., Houpu Clean Energy Co., Ltd. and Zixing Dongjiang Lake Anda Water Transport Co., Ltd., with a total investment of 121 million yuan. With an investment of 5 million yuan, Dongjiang Jinlongfang passenger ship is the first domestic river tourist ship driven by pure LNG fuel. The ship has a total length of 24.8m, a model width of 7.0m, a passenger quota of 90 and a design speed of 20km / h. It is mainly engaged in the route from Dongjiang Dam Tourism terminal to Bailang tourism terminal, connecting the two core scenic spots of Dongjiang Dam and Bailang, with a total distance of 20 kilometers and a round trip of about 2 hours.
Dongjiang Jinlongfang LNG Powered Passenger Ship
Wu Weidong, Director of Marine Research Institute of Houpu Clean Energy Co., Ltd., said that LNG energy powered passenger ships have the advantages of clean and environmental protection and zero emission to the atmosphere. Compared with traditional oil powered passenger ships, they can play a better economic benefit and have a better endurance than electric passenger ships.
LNG pilot project is the first pilot project in China to integrate LNG powered passenger ships, filling station facilities and crew training center, and promote the overall mode. The filling station under construction is the first shore based filling station of oil gas electricity integration in China, with an investment of nearly 100 million yuan. Its unique filling station mode of oil, gas, electricity, vehicle and ship integration can meet the alternate energy demand of each stage, which will provide an innovative mode for the ship energy supply mode beyond the pontoon shore based filling station, and provide a new way for the application of LNG injection in inland river basin and sea.
